Your Guide to Getting a BOB Double Jogging Stroller
If you have been snooping for good jogging strollers online, you may already have heard of the stroller manufacturer BOB. Founded in the 90s by bicycle industry expert Roger Malinowski and airline mechanic Philip Novotny, the company has made a name for itself first with its patent bike trailer, and later with its famous line of baby strollers. The company’s Duallies or double jogging strollers, in particular, are known to be among the best of their kind in the market. We have recently reviewed the three most popular BOB double jogging strollers in the market, and if you are interested, read on.

First in our list is the BOB Revolution SE Duallie Stroller. As you can expect, this product has received a generally favorable review in Amazon, and for a good reason. It is designed not just with the performance but also your children’s safety in mind. Hence, it is sometimes used as a benchmark when rating other similar strollers.
A five-point harness keeps your child safe in their seat as they ride the stroller. This feature essentially replaces the child tray found in most other jogging strollers, the exclusion of which is a great design decision that removes a good chunk of bulk from the product.
Now, those who have used the Revolution SE Duallie can say that the product excels really well in the performance department, outdoing most other products in the market. It has a standard set up, with two larger wheels at the
back and a smaller, swiveling front wheel, the latter being the one that provides superb handling that allows for great maneuverability and easy navigation in corners and curves. The stroller also offers a really smooth ride for your kids, thanks to its suspension feature that can easily adjust to any terrain.
Looking for flaws in this stroller is pretty much nitpicking, but that doesn’t mean that we never had any issues with this product. It can be very cumbersome to move around when collapsed due to its size and weight, but that is a rather trivial complaint that does not take much away from the quality of this product.
Another reputable BOB stroller is the BOB Revolution Flex Duallie Stroller. As with the Revolution SE Duallie, this product owes much of its reputation to its performance, which is pretty much a trademark of BOB products. The quality is also commendable.
The Revolution Flex Duallie does not look really different from the Revolution SE Duallie, sporting a streamlined design typical of BOB strollers as well as the common three-wheel set up, featuring two rear wheels and a smaller swiveling front wheel. With the added benefit of a suspension system and a relatively light construction, this allows the stroller to practically glide in just about any reasonable surface. What’s more is that this-this stroller features a foot brake that gives you more control when running with this product, allowing you to stop at
will and with little effort.
Your children will certainly benefit from the comfort of this stroller’s ultra-padded reclining seats, as well as the safety provided by the padded five-point harness feature. Parents, on the other hand, will appreciate the fact that the stroller’s handlebar is adjustable and can be adjusted to match the parent’s height. It also folds neatly for storage, and we find that doing so does not take much effort.
As with the Revolution SE Duallie, we have had an issue with this product’s size, which makes it quite difficult to fit it through doors and tuck it for storage. The fact that you can only attach one infant car adapter and not two to this stroller is also a bit disappointing.
Our third and last item in this trio is the BOB Revolution Pro Duallie Stroller. As with the other BOB products in this list, this stroller pretty much dominates other double jogging strollers in the market in terms of performance, but without compromising child safety for that matter.
This product basically has the same features as the Revolution Flex Duallie, so we are going to skip a lot of details in this regard. What makes this product different is that this product features a hand brake that controls the rear wheels’ deceleration, allowing you to have better control on the stroller when it comes to ascending and descending slopes, as well as stopping or slowing the stroller down as needed.
As with the Revolution SE Duallie and the Revolution Flex Duallie, we only have issues with this product’s size, which is really something one
should expect from any jogging stroller. It is wide and can barely fit through doors and may be a little bulky for storage. Nonetheless, this, in our opinion, is the best BOB double jogging stroller, beating the Flex Duallie to a punch.
Why Buy BOB Duallies?
There are plenty of reasons why you should opt to buy a BOB double jogging stroller over similar products from other companies. The main draw of BOB strollers, however, is the performance that they offer. Compared to other brands, BOB strollers are very easy to haul around, gliding smoothly on nearly any surface and are highly maneuverable, with very little reports of the usual front wheel shaking. The performance results in effective usability, as well as optimum child comfort.
The focus on performance, however, does not mean that BOB is cutting corners with regards to child safety. While this aspect does not appear to have received equal attention as the product’s performance did, it is suffice to say that BOB does decently in this regard.
Pros and Cons of BOB Strollers
The major advantage that you can get from a BOB double jogging stroller is the product’s superb performance. As mentioned earlier, BOB offers excellent handling and maneuverability, as well as a smooth ride for your infants. The five-point harness, a staple of BOB strollers, is also a step above the usual child tray, offering safety without compromising child comfort.
On the other hand, BOB Duallies suffer from being bulky, even when collapsed, making it difficult to store or move the product around. This is a common problem with double jogging strollers, and BOB is not spared from it. Another disadvantage with BOB products is BOB’s penchant with selling common stroller accessories as separate products; you are essentially buying a very basic double jogging stroller and will need to separately buy accessories like an infant car seat adapter, an infant car seat, child trays, parent trays, etc. Although Duallies have all the features that’s needed to provide the best possible performance and child safety, it would be very convenient if these products have the basic accessories like the trays built in.
